Bandhani is highly labour-intensive and handcrafted. A single small piece can take 1–3 days of meticulous work and every knot and dot is tied by hand.

Preparation: Fabric is washed and treated to remove starch, dirt, and oil so the dye absorbs evenly.
Marking & Designing: Artisans mark tiny dots, patterns, or motifs on the fabric using chalk or pencil.
Tying: Using thread, artisans tightly tie small portions of fabric at marked points. Each knot resists the dye, creating tiny patterns when dyed.
Dyeing: Fabric is then dipped into AZO-Free Dyes and areas tied with thread remain uncoloured, forming the iconic dotted patterns.
Drying: Dyed fabric is carefully dried under shade to avoid colour fading.
Removing Threads & Finishing: Threads are gently removed to reveal the patterns and fabric is washed again to set the colours.
