Nilam India wasn't Nilam India earlier.

It began with our grandmother, Mrs. Jameela Iyer, and her love for patterns, block printing, and design, a love that grew through her travels around the world, where every new pattern sparked inspiration. With a keen sense of colour and an eye for pairing hues and designs, she was inspired to take up block printing as a hobby.

With only a handful of passionate souls, we embarked on a journey to bring life into our clothing and home décor space. Mrs. Iyer named her hobby Nilam, after her daughter. Slowly, our designs, colours, and unwavering commitment to quality began to resonate and something magical happened. People didn’t just accept our work; they embraced it with open hearts.

The outpouring of love and appreciation from our cherished customers touched us deeply and helped us build a small offline community. It was in those moments of connection and warmth that we realised our purpose to share Nilam’s refreshing world with everyone.

However, due to health challenges, Mrs. Iyer had to step back, and the printing shed fell silent for a while. That’s when Sanghamitra her granddaughter, decided to carry her legacy forward. With generational knowledge, inherited craft, and deep-rooted work ethics, we continue to pour our hearts and souls into creating designs that not only enhance style but also uplift energy.
